WHEREAS heart disease is the leading cause of premature death among Canadian women, affecting women of all ages and backgrounds; and
WHEREAS Wear Red Canada Day raises awareness about women’s heart health and the unique symptoms and risk factors that women experience; and
WHEREAS the Town of Carleton Place recognizes the importance of educating our community about heart health and encouraging women to prioritize their cardiovascular wellness; and
WHEREAS raising awareness can save lives by empowering women to recognize warning signs, seek timely medical attention, and adopt heart-healthy lifestyles;
NOW, THEREFORE, I, Toby Randell, Mayor of the Town of Carleton Place, do hereby proclaim Wear Red Canada Day, February 13, 2026, in Carleton Place.
I encourage all residents to wear red on February 13th, support the women in their lives by promoting heart health awareness, and learn about the signs and symptoms of heart disease in women.
