Local Heritage Week – February 16-21, 2026 

WHEREAS Local Heritage Week celebrates Ontario’s diverse heritage and provides an opportunity to explore and appreciate the history that has shaped our communities; and 

WHEREAS Carleton Place has a rich heritage reflected in our historic buildings, cultural traditions, and the stories of the people who built our community; and 

WHEREAS preserving and promoting local heritage helps strengthen community identity, fosters civic pride, and educates future generations about our shared past; and 

WHEREAS the Town of Carleton Place, the Town’s Heritage Committee and the Carleton Place and Beckwith Heritage Museum are committed to celebrating and protecting our heritage resources and sharing the stories that make our community unique; 

NOW, THEREFORE, I, Toby Randell, Mayor of the Town of Carleton Place, do hereby proclaim Local Heritage Week, February 16th to 21st, 2026 in the Town of Carleton Place. 

I encourage all residents to participate in heritage activities, visit our local heritage sites, and take time to learn about the fascinating history of Carleton Place and the people who have called it home.
