WHEREAS June is recognized as Seniors Month in Ontario, a time to honor and celebrate the contributions and hard work that Ontario’s older adults have done all their lives; and
WHEREAS the 2026 provincial theme for Seniors Month is Let’s Get Moving, the Town of Carleton Place acknowledges the importance of considering older members of our community when planning our public spaces;
WHEREAS Seniors Month provides an opportunity to promote awareness of seniors’ rights and the programs and services available to support their well-being;
NOW, THEREFORE, I, Toby Randell, Mayor of the Town of Carleton Place, do hereby proclaim June 2026 as Seniors Month in Carleton Place.
I encourage all residents to recognize and celebrate the accomplishments and contributions of our seniors, and to participate in activities and events that promote their well-being and inclusion in our community.
