Construction Update – June 18th, 2026

Construction activities anticipated for the upcoming week include the following:

Public Works Yard 97 Franklin Street

The footing for the new salt shed has been completed, and work will begin on the walls in the coming week. Excavation for the new 5-bay garage has commenced and work will begin soon on the footings for this building.

Lake Avenue West (O’Donovan Drive to Boat Launch)

Top course asphalt was placed this week.

Frank Street (Emily Street to Mississippi River)

Top course asphalt is scheduled for June 25th.

James Street (Townline Road to Bell Street)

Concrete works are to be completed over the next several days. Asphalt overlay is scheduled for June 25th.

Joseph Street (Townline Road to High Street)

Concrete works are to be completed over the next several days. Asphalt overlay is scheduled for June 25th.

Wellington Street (Queen Street to Park Avenue)

Asphalt overlay has been completed.

Napoleon Street (Wilson Street to Woodward Street)

Roadway removals and watermain replacement are set to begin July 2nd.

Sarah Street (Lake to Woodward)

Roadway removals and granular replacement have commenced and will continue next week.

Sarah Street (Arthur to Morris)

Roadway removals are set to begin June 25th.

For everyone’s safety, the Town of Carleton Place would like to request that residents find alternative routes to avoid these active construction zones. If you cannot avoid these areas, please reduce your speed and follow the directions provided by flag crews and/or any posted signage.  Should you have any questions or concerns regarding any of our projects, please do not hesitate to call Public Works at (613) 257-2253.
