The Town of Carleton Place is pleased to announce that it is the recipient of a grant from the Government of Ontario in the amount of $200,000 under the Ontario Trillium Foundation (OTF) Capital stream. The grant will be used to replace the elevator at the Arena, located at 75 Neelin Street, which will ensure safe, reliable access to arena spaces and improve inclusion for people with disabilities, families and community users.
“I’m proud to support the funding received for this vital upgrade to the Carleton Place Arena,” said Lanark Frontenac Kingston MPP John Jordan. “This Ontario Trillium Foundation Capital grant will help to ensure continued safe access for spectators and participants of all ages and abilities so that everyone can join in the impressive calendar of sporting events and social gatherings at this important community hub.”
Work on the elevator is expected to begin this summer, with a projected completion date of February 2027. A formal grant recognition event will follow, and details will be announced in the Town’s CP Scoop e-newsletter.
