The Town of Carleton Place Development Services Department would like to inform residents and local businesses of the commencement of a major infrastructure project that began this week.
Cavanagh Construction has been awarded the contract for the construction of a new arterial roadway, which will extend Captain A. Roy Brown Boulevard up to Highway 15 and includes a new service road known as McEachen Drive.
This essential project is being undertaken to support future growth and development within the upcoming phases of the Uniform subdivision, as well as lands located south of Highway 7. In addition, the new roadway will complement proposed improvements made by the Ministry of Transportation (MTO) to Highways 15 and 7, currently planned for 2027.
Key components of the project include:
- Construction of a new arterial road with a turning circle
- Installation of storm sewers and a watermain
- Realignment of the existing Beckwith drain
- Streetlighting
- New sidewalks and asphalt pathways
- Landscaping
Blasting operations are scheduled to begin this week and are expected to continue for approximately six (6) weeks. Once blasting is complete, crews will proceed with the installation of underground watermain and sewer infrastructure, followed by utilities and road construction.
The project is expected to progress through the remainder of 2025, with final works being completed in the spring of 2026.
We ask for everyone’s patience and cooperation during this construction project. Should a member of the public have any concerns or questions of a general nature, please contact the Development Services Office at 613-257-6203.
