The Public Works Department would like to remind residents that weather, staffing, and supply of materials can impact the construction schedule. Activities anticipated for the upcoming week include the following:
McNeely Avenue
Cavanagh Construction Limited will begin mobilizing crews to start work on upsizing the sanitary sewer. Crews will commence the removal of concrete materials and trees located within the sewer trench limits and will be installing erosion and sediment control measures. Electronic signage will be installed to inform the community of upcoming lane reductions and the dates they will take effect.
Bennett Street
Crews will be replacing the concrete curbs where needed.
Duncan Street
Crews will continue replacing the granular materials.
Ann and Brown Street
Crews continue replacing the granular materials. Additionally, crews will be installing a new catch basin on Ann Street to assist with drainage.
Princess Street & Findlay Avenue Sanitary Pumping Stations
Black and McDonald Ltd.’s crews will begin excavating material at both pumping stations to expose the existing underground infrastructure.
For everyone’s safety, the Town of Carleton Place and our contractors would like to request that residents find alternative routes to avoid these active construction zones. If you are unable to find alternative routes around the construction zones, please reduce your speed and follow the directions as provided by flag crews and/or any posted signage. Our goal is to ensure everyone is able to go home safely at the end of each day. Should you have any questions about any of our projects, please reach out to the Public Works Office at (613) 257-2253.
