The Town of Carleton Place would like to remind residents that weather, staffing, and supply of materials can impact the construction schedule. Activities anticipated for the upcoming week include the following:
McNeely Avenue (Sanitary Sewer Upsizing Project)
Thomas Cavanagh Construction continues to remove and replace the sanitary sewer pipe from behind Canadian Tire, working westward towards McNeely Avenue. The crews have now shifted to a nighttime schedule (8:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m. on Sundays and 9:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m. Monday to Thursday). With the shift in work schedule, we hope to minimize the impact on pedestrian and vehicular traffic of residents accessing the Independent grocery store and Canadian Tire. Crews have progressed up to the easternmost pedestrian crossing to the Independent grocery store and monitor progress on a nightly basis to ensure that the site is clean and all drive aisles are unobstructed by 7:00 a.m.
Dufferin Street
Crews will be removing the existing asphalt. Crews will also be replacing damaged sections of concrete curb and sidewalk.
St. Paul Street
Down Street
Crews will be removing the existing asphalt, excavating and replacing granular materials.
Charles Street
Crews will be removing asphalt.
Grant Street
Crews will be removing asphalt.
Findlay Avenue Pumping Station
Crews will be on site installing the by-pass system.
Princess Street Pumping Station
Crews will be on site installing a new manhole to accommodate by-pass pumping.
Industrial Avenue Pumping Station
Crews have commenced excavation activities to rehabilitate the Industrial Avenue Pumping Station. Traffic control measures will be in place when needed. For everyone’s safety, the Town of Carleton Place and our contractors would like to request that residents find alternative routes to avoid these active construction zones. If you are unable to find alternative routes around the construction, please reduce your speed and follow the directions as provided by flag crews and/or any posted signage. Our goal is to ensure everyone is able to go home safely at the end of each day. Should you have any questions about any of our projects, please reach out to the Public Works Office at (613) 257-2253.
