The Town of Carleton Place would like to remind residents that weather, staffing, and supply of materials can impact the construction schedule. Activities anticipated for the upcoming week include the following:
Captain A Roy Brown Extension and McEachen Drive Construction
Cavanagh Construction is continuing with removing rock through blasting and re-shaping the Beckwith Drain.
Grant Street
Crews will be paving top lift asphalt tomorrow.
Charles Street
Crews will continue to replace granular materials in preparation for base course asphalt.
St. Paul Street
Crews will be grinding the existing asphalt and will be grading the granular materials.
Findlay Pump Station
Crews will resume the installation of the new building foundation and will be pouring concrete.
Princess Street Pumping Station
Renovations to the building will continue next week, along with backfilling of the wet well.
Industrial Avenue Pumping Station
Work is mostly complete on the installation of the Industrial Avenue forcemain, with the final connection to the sanitary sewer scheduled for the week of September 22nd, with a scheduled road closure of Industrial Avenue at Townline Road to allow this work to be completed.
Water Treatment Plant Expansion
Crews have begun excavation for the installation of the new underground piping. The parking lot between the Carleton Place High School and the Water Treatment Plant has been closed to the public. Residents should be aware that there may be intermittent periods where access to the Canoe Club and parking for Riverside Park may be impacted in the coming days/weeks. Line drilling and blasting will be undertaken shortly to break rock for the new infrastructure.
Wastewater Treatment Plant Expansion
Crews have begun excavation for the new headworks building. Drilling has been progressing and blasting will be undertaken shortly to break rock for the new buildings.
For everyone’s safety, the Town of Carleton Place and its contractors would like to request that residents find alternative routes to avoid these active construction zones. If you are unable to find alternative routes around the construction, please reduce your speed and follow the directions provided by flag crews and/or any posted signage. Our goal is to ensure everyone is able to go home safely at the end of each day. Should you have any questions about any of our projects, please reach out to the Public Works Office at (613) 257-2253.
