Paint Party – Sunrise on the Saguenay, Cape Trinity ~ Watercolour

A tribute to Canadian artist, Lucius O’Brien.
Since its establishment in 1880, The National Gallery of Canada has included this painting in its permanent collection. O’Brien had a great affinity with the spectacular forms of nature and rarely has the effect of early morning light dissipating in mist been so memorably evoked. I chose to translate this from oils into watercolours and will explain my reasons as we go through the steps in this art adventure.
