On Saturday, Julie Sadler was announced as the 2025 Citizen of the Year in Carleton Place at the Town’s Volunteer Appreciation event.
Julie has spent many years dedicating her time to giving back to our community in many different capacities. She is thoughtful, dependable, and driven by a genuine desire to make a positive difference. For many years, this community has been fortunate to have this exceptional volunteer and generous community member selflessly working to help others and our community.
- For 12 years, Julie was a member of the local chapter of the Canadian Cancer Society and also drove and delivered Meals on Wheels.
- Since 2007, she has been volunteering with the Salvation Army Kettle program during the holidays.
- During COVID, she was a shopper and driver for Independent Grocer.
- During the recent fundraising campaign for the new Emergency Department, she was a member of the Campaign Cabinet, helping to raise funds.
- A 35-year member of the IODE – Captain Hooper chapter – currently the President and Treasurer.
- Currently on the Board of Directors for the Carleton Place and Beckwith Historical Society and the current treasurer.
