WHEREAS early childhood educators and childcare workers provide high-quality care, guidance, and early learning experiences that are essential to the healthy development of children; and
WHEREAS these professionals support families, strengthen communities, and contribute to the social and economic fabric of our society by enabling parents and caregivers to pursue education and employment; and
WHEREAS the 2025 theme “Care Counts” highlights the need for respect, and recognition for those who dedicate their careers to nurturing and educating our youngest citizens; and
WHEREAS the Town of Carleton Place values the dedication, compassion, and skill of local child care professionals, many of whom go above and beyond to create safe, inclusive, and stimulating environments for children; and
WHEREAS this day provides an opportunity to publicly acknowledge and celebrate the meaningful work of child care staff and early childhood educators across Ontario and right here in Carleton Place;
NOW, THEREFORE, I, Toby Randell, Mayor of the Town of Carleton Place, do hereby proclaim October 21, 2025, as Child Care Worker and Early Childhood Educator Appreciation Day in Carleton Place.
I encourage all residents to join in recognizing and thanking the educators and care providers who play such a vital role in shaping the minds and lives of our future generations.
