WHEREAS Local Government Week provides an opportunity to increase awareness of the vital role that local governments play in shaping our communities and delivering essential public services; and
WHEREAS the Town of Carleton Place is committed to fostering civic engagement and encouraging residents to learn about how municipal government functions and how their voices can influence local decisions; and
WHEREAS this week serves as an invitation for students and residents alike to explore careers in local government, participate in democratic processes, and connect with their elected representatives and Town staff; and
WHEREAS the Council and staff of the Town of Carleton Place work year-round to provide responsive services, infrastructure, planning, and programs that directly affect the daily lives of residents;
NOW, THEREFORE, I, Toby Randell, Mayor of the Town of Carleton Place, do hereby proclaim October 19 – 25, 2025, as Local Government Week in Carleton Place.
I encourage all residents to take this opportunity to engage with their local government, explore how it operates, and learn how to become more involved in shaping our shared future.
