The Town of Carleton Place would like to remind residents that weather, staffing, and supply of materials can impact the construction schedule. Activities anticipated for the upcoming week include the following:
Water Treatment Plant & Wastewater Treatment Plant Expansions
Concrete is being poured for the wet well for the new headworks building at the Wastewater Treatment Plant, and preparation of the base for the new Rotary Drum Thickener building will begin. At the Water Treatment Plant, the new watermains will be tested and chlorinated in preparation for connections the following week.
Captain A. Roy Brown Blvd. Extension and McEachen Drive Construction
Crews are continuing their efforts towards completing the road construction and installation of utilities.
Findlay Avenue Pumping Station
The natural gas road crossing will occur on Monday/Tuesday of next week resulting in the closure of Findlay Avenue for this work to be completed. Detours will be in place.
Industrial Avenue Pumping Station
The roof will be installed on the new control building, followed by the installation of the instrumentation pads.
Princess Street Pumping Station
The pads for the new natural gas generator and gas meter will be poured. Roofing has been completed.
For everyone’s safety, the Town of Carleton Place and its contractors would like to request that residents find alternative routes to avoid these active construction zones. If you are unable to find alternative routes around the construction, please reduce your speed and follow the directions provided by flag crews and/or any posted signage. Our goal is to ensure everyone is able to go home safely at the end of each day. Should you have any questions about any of our projects, please reach out to the Public Works Office at (613) 257-2253.
