Construction Update – September 4th, 2025

The Town of Carleton Place would like to remind residents that weather, staffing, and supply of materials can impact the construction schedule. Activities anticipated for the upcoming week include the following:

Sanitary Sewer Upsizing Project (McNeely Avenue)

Crews will continue with the restoration of the asphalt surfaces and landscaping along the Independent Drive Aisle and McNeely Avenue.

Captain A Roy Brown Extension and McEachen Drive Construction

Cavanagh Construction will proceed with removing rock through blasting and re-shaping the Beckwith Drain.

Charles Street

Crews will continue to replace granular materials in preparation for base course asphalt.

Findlay Pump Station

Crews will continue with the installation of the new building foundation and will be pouring concrete.

Princess Street Pumping Station

The new wet well was inserted this week. Renovations to the building will continue next week.

Industrial Avenue Pumping Station

Work is continuing on the installation of the Industrial Avenue forcemain. Please adhere to the direction provided by the flag persons.

Water Treatment Plant Expansion

Crews have begun excavation for the installation of the new underground piping. The parking lot between the Carleton Place High School and the Water Treatment Plant has been closed to the public. Residents should be aware that there may be intermittent periods where access to the Canoe Club and parking for Riverside Park may be impacted in the coming days/weeks.

Wastewater Treatment Plant Expansion

Crews have begun excavation for the new headworks building. Hydro One will be returning next week to continue with the hydro line relocation.

For everyone’s safety, the Town of Carleton Place and its contractors would like to request that residents find alternative routes to avoid these active construction zones. If you are unable to find alternative routes around the construction, please reduce your speed and follow the directions provided by flag crews and/or any posted signage.  Our goal is to ensure everyone is able to go home safely at the end of each day. Should you have any questions about any of our projects, please reach out to the Public Works Office at (613) 257-2253.
