WHEREAS the Town of Carleton Place recognizes the importance of transitioning to a circular economy, which emphasizes designing out waste, keeping products and materials in use, and regenerating natural systems; and
WHEREAS October has been designated as Circular Economy Month, a time to educate and empower Canadians to support an economy that protects the planet and prioritizes people; and
WHEREAS the theme for this year’s Circular Economy Month, “A Stronger Community for All,” highlights the importance and benefits of advancing circular economy strategies to enhance sustainability; and
WHEREAS the Town of Carleton Place is committed to fostering innovation, collaboration, and sustainable practices within our community to promote economic growth and environmental stewardship;
NOW, THEREFORE, I, Toby Randell, Mayor of the Town of Carleton Place, do hereby proclaim October 2025 as Circular Economy Month in Carleton Place.
I encourage all residents, businesses, and organizations to participate in educational events, adopt sustainable practices, and collaborate on initiatives that contribute to a resilient and thriving circular economy.
