WHEREAS October is internationally recognized as Breast Cancer Awareness Month, a dedicated period for educating the public about breast cancer, promoting early detection, and supporting those affected by the disease; and
WHEREAS the theme for this year’s observance, “No-one should face breast cancer alone,” emphasizes the importance of community support, accessible care, and shared knowledge in the fight against breast cancer; and
WHEREAS breast cancer remains one of the most common cancers globally, affecting individuals regardless of age, gender, or background, and early detection through regular screenings significantly increases survival rates; and
WHEREAS the Town of Carleton Place acknowledges the profound impact breast cancer has on our community and stands in solidarity with survivors, those currently battling the disease, and the families who have lost loved ones; and
WHEREAS local organizations and healthcare providers are committed to offering resources, support, and education to promote breast health and provide assistance to those affected;
NOW, THEREFORE, I, Toby Randell, Mayor of the Town of Carleton Place, do hereby proclaim October 2025 as Breast Cancer Awareness Month in Carleton Place.
I encourage all residents to participate in local events, wear pink to raise awareness, support those affected by breast cancer, and prioritize regular screenings and healthy lifestyles to reduce the risk of breast cancer.
