WHEREAS Emergency Preparedness Week serves as a reminder of the importance of being prepared for potential emergencies and disasters; and
WHEREAS the theme “Be Prepared. Know Your Risks” and is a national awareness initiative encouraging Canadians to take action to prepare for emergencies; and
WHEREAS the Town of Carleton Place is dedicated to ensuring public safety through preparedness, education, and collaboration with emergency services; and
WHEREAS individuals, families, and businesses are encouraged to develop emergency plans and stay informed to enhance community resilience;
NOW THEREFORE, I, Toby Randell, Mayor of the Town of Carleton Place, do hereby proclaim May 5th to 11th, 2025, as Emergency Preparedness Week in Carleton Place.
I encourage all residents to take proactive steps to be ready for emergencies and support local preparedness efforts.
