Enbridge Gas Inc. has applied to dispose of the balances of certain deferral and variance accounts
Enbridge Gas Inc. (Enbridge Gas) has applied to dispose of the balances in certain deferral and variance accounts, including accounts related to earnings sharing, pensions and other post-employment benefits, taxes, disposition of property, the Low-income Energy Assistance Program Emergency Financial Assistance, the Ontario Energy Board (OEB) cost assessment and Integrated Resource Planning system pruning. If the application is approved as filed, a typical residential customer and a typical general service customer of Enbridge Gas would see the following billing adjustments, effective July 1, 2027:
EGD Rate Zone (former Enbridge Gas Distribution Inc. customers)
- Residential Rate 1 Sales Service and Direct Purchase customers will see a one-time billing credit of $18.94
Union Rate Zones (former Union Gas Limited customers) - Union South Residential Rate M1 Sales Service customers will see a one-time billing charge of $7.76
- Union South Residential Rate M1 Direct Purchase customers will see a one-time billing charge of $0.42
- Union North-West Residential Rate 01 Sales Service and Direct Purchase customers will see a one-time billing credit of $22.10
- Union North-East Residential Rate 01 Sales Service and Direct Purchase customers will see a one-time billing credit of $7.28
Other customers, including businesses, may also be affected. It is important to review the application carefully to determine whether you may be affected by the proposed changes.
THE ONTARIO ENERGY BOARD WILL HOLD A PUBLIC HEARING
There are three types of OEB Hearings: oral, electronic and written. The applicant has applied for a written hearing. If you think a different hearing type is needed, you can write to us to explain why. During this hearing, we will question the applicant about its case. We will also hear questions and arguments from participants that have registered as Intervenors. After reviewing all the evidence, we will decide whether to approve this application.
