Take notice that the Council of the Town of Carleton Place will hold a public meeting as part of the Committee of the Whole meeting on September 22nd, 2026, at 6:00 p.m. for the proposed changes to the 2027 Building Department fees as determined by the Chief Building Official. The public meeting is required to make alterations to the building permit fee schedule through Section 7 (6) of the Building Code Act, 1992, as amended, for the 2027 calendar year.
The Chief Building Official of the Town of Carleton Place is proposing to make adjustments to the building permit fee schedule following a review of the current permit fee schedule and the costs associated with providing service to enforce the Ontario Building Code Act with regard to building permits through Section 7 of the Ontario Building Code and the Building Code Act, 1992, as amended.
The 2026 Building Permit Fee schedule and the proposed 2027 Building Permit Fee schedule for comparison of changes will be available to the public on the Town’s website at http://www.carletonplace.ca/ or by contacting the Chief Building Official, Len Smith at cbo@carletonplace.ca, or by visiting in person at the Town Hall.
Any person may attend the public meeting and/or make written or verbal representation either in support of or in opposition to the proposed permit fee schedule.
Note: This shall serve as Public Notice in compliance with Section 7 (6) of the OBC Act, as amended and Division C – Part 1 Article 1.9, Sentence 1.9.1.2 of the OBC.
It is the intent that the new fee schedule will take effect on January 1st, 2027.
